It’s been a while since I’ve written anything like this. Four years ago I had a blog that I contributed to regularly with thoughts of religion, the Church, and my relationship with both, chronicling my spiritual journey. And then I embarked upon the discernment process in the hopes of becoming an Episcopal priest. Through that process, I learned a great deal about myself, but the process caused a lot of turmoil and hard feelings toward the Church and this turmoil and hard feelings turned into bitterness and resentment. My relationship with the Episcopal Church — and Christianity in general — began to deteriorate.
Recently I’ve felt the pull back toward the Church. I miss the community, liturgy, and spirituality of the Church. I needed to step away for a while to regroup and press reset, and now am starting anew. I’m commissioning this new blog as an outlet for my writing, reflection, and discussion of matters of faith and spirituality, religion and theology, liturgy and music, and much more. I welcome you to join me in my journey as I begin again.
